Wickers are on the Up

June 24, 2017

After some very promising games over the first half of the season.  The club have certainly seen Rome starting to rebuild a lot sooner than previously thought.

Some promising 13&U and 15&U players proving to the critics that juniors at Berwick Netball Club is where you want to be playing.  These young ladies have a very bright future at the Wickers.

With more than 13 families alone playing within the SEFNL division of the Wickers, showing that family culture we are bringing to the table. Across the club 17 sisters and brother, mother and daughters play for our wonderful teams.  We have mums and dads chipping in everywhere across the entire club.

Hosting the Redbacks this week at home, some fantastic wins across the morning with both 13 Reds, 15 Reds and 17 Whites taking away the wins.  17 Reds went down by a mere 3 goals, and some strong games through D and C grade saw minimal margins.  B Grade went down by a goal in the last which left supporters all on the edges of their seats.

Then the game of the day A Grade was a fantastic performance by all players, but the wicker chicks just couldn't hold onto their win, ending the game in a nail biting draw.  This left the girls walking away with some disappointment, but also some tough thinking ahead going into Round 11 against Cranbourne.

The club will be providing lots of shelter at Cranbourne's courts.  So please bring your chairs and blankets as it tends to get a little windy down at Casey Fields.

Let's go Wickers, keep on marching and staying strong together for one another #wickersweareone
