Round 8 v ROC

June 3, 2017

A grade are certainly proving that they are on the up and up for season 2017.

Last rounds win against ROC saw them come away with a 5 goal win and move up to 6th on the ladder, proving to the critics that they will certainly not be the cellar dwellers for season 2017.

With a celebration for Sarah Nash, reaching her milestone 100 games, the game certainly reaped its rewards for one of our own.  The defensive pressure was the key to this game, lead by Morgan Thomas, who is without a doubt starting to prove her place in the A Grade side. Accompanied by Bec Langford and Captain Renee Gill, the girls turned over some crucial balls, to then have the strength of our midcourt, flawlessly feed the ball into young guns Itagia Amatagia and Emily Wilson to convert.

The club would like to congratulate our 15 & Red's coach Leanne Walford and 4 of her young players in Akech, Joyce, Rylee and Sussu on making it to State Championships, being held June 25th at the State Hockey and Netball Centre.  Alongside SEFNL rep players from Cranbourne, Narre Warren and ROC, the girls will compete against the best netballers in our state and show what they are made of! With this being just the 2nd year that our league has been represented in such tournaments, it is amazing achievement by these players and one the Berwick Netball Club is very proud of.  SEFNL will be represented in both the 13's and 15's divisions at the State Champs, and we wish all of these young girls and coaches the best of luck!
