As we head into the second week of finals, the Berwick Netball Club still have two teams going strong in their hunt for a spot in the grand final.
C Grade had a tough, physical encounter last week when they took on Beaconsfield. The girls came out firing in the first quarter, to be up by a 6-goal margin at quarter time. However, Beacy edged their way back into the game over the next 3 quarters, and managed to convert on their turnovers in order to come away with the win. The girls will be keen to rectify this game as they come up against Pakenham this Sunday in the elimination final.
The B grade side kick off their finals campaign this weekend, after finishing minor premiers the girls had the first week off and are well rested and ready to show why they have been top of the table for most of the year. The girls come up against the strong Narre Warren side, who have been somewhat of an arch rival all season. With Berwick having won both home and away games, signs look good for the side to come away with the win and earn that illustrious spot in the Grand Final. This game will definitely be a hard fought out contest and definitely one to watch!
We wish the best of luck to these two sides, lets hope all the hard work and training you have put in pays off!
Thank-you to all of our helpers that contributed in some way to the running of last week, as we hosted the SEFNL qualifying final at Edwin Flack Reserve. Many hands truly do make light work, and it was great to see so many members of the BNC community volunteering their time to help us out.
