With the cold and frosty conditions starting to come into the season, we welcomed Narre Warren to Berwick last week for what was sure to be a great demonstration of skills and talent from both clubs.
This year the Berwick Netball Club is going through a ‘rebuild’ year. Sometimes you have to go back to basics, regroup, and start planning for the future of your club. Although the results may not be reflecting on the scoreboard at this present time, we have to understand that hard work and dedication are the things that will push our club into the future. We highly and strongly emphasise at BNC that our mentality should be club, team, individual (in that order), and putting all the pieces together to maintain a strong and united club isn’t an instantaneous occurrence. The results will be evident in due time, and we can’t thank our players and supporters enough for sticking by the club during this phase.
Congratulations to Shaye Smith of B Grade, who last week celebrated her 100th senior game for the club. Shaye has been around Berwick for many years, playing games through juniors and seniors. As well as playing, Shaye has also been a coach of our junior girls in the past few seasons, and many of our younger girls really look up to her as a role model and the example she sets for where these girls want to be playing in the coming years. Shaye’s contribution to the club is above and beyond, and we’re so glad to have her be a part of our community
. Congratulations again Shaye on your milestone achievement, we are so proud of you.
